Antique Books. The French Court and Society. outlet French Books. Decorative Books. Illustrated Books. Gift Books.
These books printed in the 1800s, 1899 to be exact, have made their way to me. This two volume set with foxed pages and cloth covers that are a bit worn and soiled, have made their way to me with pages that are uncut... uncut how? Why wouldn't you cut the pages so that you can read the tales of the stories of some of the most prominent outlet figures in French history? I mean really, I would have to cut right? Maybe they had another copy, a reading copy. It would make sense then, but only if they had a reading copy. I just can't see, if this is the only copy you have, I can't understand why you would not cut this? The good news is it wasn't cut. Well, good news for me that is. That's awesome. The bad news for you is it wasn't cut. That means you have to make that decision yourself. I mean what's the point of buying them if you're not going to allow these amazing volumes to have their say about the French court and society in the 1700s. My goodness this is better than fiction that's for sure.
Condition: Everything listed has been carefully chosen and is special and unique in their own way. Since I am drawn to the imperfections of a piece, you can be sure that all of the items listed have flaws that I believe add their charm and beauty. I understand that vintage and antique can mean different things to different people. At Picture Paper Page all of my treasures are what I consider vintage - most are antique even, ranging from the 1800's to the mid 20th century. The conditions will vary. Some of them may have marks, loose or torn pages. Missing and detached pages or covers. Stains, yellowing or foxing through out. Conditions that reflect the many years of love or lack there of. Lack of condition information doesn't that my books free of flaws.
For me all of this, in addition to the content come together to make my pieces "Fabulously Flawed " and perfect for my shop. All are suitable for both reading and decorating. Most make beautiful gifts. I try to tell the story of my treasures with the pictures I take. Hoping to give as much information as I can with each shot. I would be happy to answer any questions, actually I welcome conversations about my books. I would also be happy to send additional pictures if requested, so don't hesitate to ask.
