Waterford Crystal Honey Pot with Lid This Waterford Crystal Honey Pot with Lid is from my personal collection. It is in excellent vintage condition. I purchased it at the Waterford factory in Ireland on one of my many trips to Ireland in the 90's. The heritage of Waterford Crystal goes back well over 200 years. The Penrose brothers opened the first glassmaking factory in Waterford in 1783. It was immediately recognized for its clarity and purity of color. They were in business for 70 years. The Waterford history resumes in 1947.The chief designer for Waterford spent many hours at the National Museum of Ireland studying examples of the Penrose crystal from the 18th and 19th century. The Honey Pot measures 4 1/4 inches in height and a diameter of 2 3/4 inches. The lid adds approximately 3/4 of an inch to the height. Each piece is marked but can be a challenge to find.
