I handmade this bowl with white stoneware clay on a pottery wheel. While wet, I altered the shape by pressing and pinching the rim. After a day or two of drying, I trimmed a foot. Then for about a week or outlet more, it dried thoroughly before I kiln bisque-fired it to cone 04 (1945 degrees F) for over 24 hours. I then painted and layered it with 4 premium glazes, Smokey Merlot, Chun Plum, Blue Rutile and Ancient Jasper, applying multiple layers of each and drying between each coat for a total of 10 coats in some areas. Finally l fired this stoneware to cone 6 (2232 degrees F) for over 24 hours.

High temperature firing results in stronger more durable pottery—might survive into infinity!
