Product code: Calcite Crystals in Large Stalactitic Structure with Boxwork Hematite outlet and Limonite, from Morocco
This piece is a marvel and consists of a super thin-walled webbed boxwork of very dark hematite, throughout which grew attachments of long columnar and curtain-like structures that are composed of thousands of small colorless to tan-colored calcite crystals. The dark hematite probably represents a hollow epimorph after outlet an unknown mineral which had long since dissolved away. For its size, this specimen is truly lightweight in feeling due to the abundance of empty space between all of the structures that make it up!
