The sculpture is an unclothed ancestral figure of female sex, which was made of wood. A strong style influence of the Akan from Ghana can be noticed. The body and the limbs are fully sculpted and look natural. The navel is particularly emphasized. Coconut fiber is applied as a hairstyle. There are also coconut fiber applications around the neck, stomach and pubic area.

Magnificent Fang statue, the patina outlet is shiny, the wood is thick - quite simply a beautiful Fang statue.

Material: heavy hardwood

Condition: In good condition considering its age with signs of wear and aging. Several authentic repairs with a wood flour-resin mixture (see photos)

It has a wonderful patina of age.
I don't know the exact age. It was brought back from Gabun by the previous owner in the 1980s.
