outlet A beautiful hand made, turned wood box/lidded container. It is made out of Australian River Red Gum Burl and the finial is made out of Tulip wood. This is truly a stunning piece. The grain pattern is magnificient. I turned this particular piece while the wood was still wet, and then I allowed it to "move" and warp. It is a very unique piece with lots of personality. Take a look at the pictures, it has warped dramatically.
The lid lifts off revealing space inside. The inside of the lid, the bottom of the inside and the bottom of the base are all ornamented in some way. The grain also matches up between the top/lid and the bottom. There are no dies used, these are all natural colors.
Just look at the grain, this is a spectacular wood with a simply incredible grain pattern.
This would make a great little jewelry box, for rings, necklaces or smaller bracelets.
