English Cotswold Sheep are good mothers and are very protective of their lambs. The fur on my animal figures is woven from sheered fiber. The mother's fur is mohair and the lamb's is wool. All non-fury parts that you can see are porcelain. I design my figures so there is a nice contrast between the texture of the porcelain and that of the fur. For this pair there is even a contrast of texture from fur to fur. The body of the mother is a cast stone for stability and the lamb's is porcelain. I've made animal figurines in my Asheville, NC studio for more than thirty years. I used to have a studio on the edge of the Cotswolds and spent many hours on the farms and outlet in the meadows during lambing season, so I'm very familiar with the Cotswolds. (Ht 5 1/2")
