Product code: Rare Matte outlet Black MCM Imperial Glass Rabbit
This is a beautiful matte black rabbit covered dish made by the Imperial Glass Co. of Bellaire, OH circa 1965. The original was made by Atterbury Glass Co. of Pittsburgh circa 1886. It is marked on the bottom “Patd March 9, 1886” and then the IG mark of Imperial. I understand the Mosser Art Glass may have made these items for Imperial. This rabbit is shown in the Imperial glass catalog to their salesmen of 1965 in preparation for the Easter season coming up in 1966. They were made in clear glass and then painted. The one shown is black. This rabbit does have a tiny tiny chip on the interior portion of the lid. In very good condition. This rabbit is 9-1/2 inches long from tail to nose, 4 inches wide at the hips and 4-1/2 inches tall at the highest point of the body. Still a beautiful piece of glass. • outlet Cross posted.
