A beautiful Aqua blue Howlite and 935 Argentium Silver Charm Bracelet, inspired by the Gypsophila flower, part of a range of Jewellery I designed in 2019. Each gemstone is meticulously wire-wrapped, adding detail and security to each charm. I have used bright shades of aqua blue dyed gemstones which have a matt finish instead of a highly polished one which we're more used to and have created the bracelet with charms cascading around the wrist, together with a 925 Sterling Silver Bolt Ring Clasp. An elegant, timeless piece, that looks beautiful on and is easy to wear. This will make a perfect gift for a loved one or as a well-deserved treat for yourself for that special outlet occasion.

The gemstones that I use are a natural product and are all hand-cut, so there may be some slight differences between individual stones.

Howlite is milky white or grey and is interspersed with black or dark brown veins. These veins are the matrix or surrounding stone. It can also be pure white, which means that the matrix is not present in the gemstone. Its porous property makes it easy to dye, and many modern designers are producing Howlite designs featuring dyed Howlite – often emulating Turquoise.

Howlite was discovered near Windsor, Nova Scotia in Canada in the late 1680s when gypsum miners came across it. As it was tougher than gypsum it was causing them problems slowing down their mining and they called in a local geologist named Henry How to help them. The gemstone was later named in his honour.

It is said that Howlite can eliminate anger and offensive behaviour. Healers consider it an important gemstone to cleanse auras and purify the blood. It is also thought to be a calming stone that can relieve insomnia, therefore, some insomniacs place a piece of Howlite beneath their pillow to encourage restful sleep

Argentium 935 Silver is purer than Sterling Silver and finishes to a whiter, brighter shine which is comparable to that of fine silver.
