Kukri. 1095 steel, ipe wood. I hand forged this blade from start to finish. This blade style was popular in Nepal. It makes a great bush or utility knife as it is hefty enough to cut through brush but still sharp enough for slicing. The high carbon steel blade was etched with a tiger stripe pattern as a testament to its rugged outdoor origins.
Knife care instructions: Non-culinary knives will come with a simple fabric sheath if blade shape and size allows. Keeping the blade sheathed and lightly coated with WD-40 when not in use will prevent excessive oxidation of the steel (rust). Over time non-coated blades may develop a gray patina outlet which is normal in carbon steel knives, especially with heavy use. Keep it clean and dry and it will stay sharp for a good long time.
