A one of a kind artist journal...
The cover is a rustic and unusual silver lambskin leather. The color is subtle, almost pearly, but definitely silver. It has wonderful rough edges and a lightly distressed texture. I have sewn a length of the palest grey sari silk to the front which wraps around the book a few times and tucks into the back to keep the book closed. The sari silk is actually two pieces which I have machine sewn together every few inches to make it a little bit stronger.
It is filled with a unique mix of papers. There are five signatures of hot press (smooth texture) Fabriano Studio 140 lb watercolor paper. This is an acid free, 25% cotton paper made in Italy. Very nice quality. There are 100 pages (including both sides) of this paper. Each page was hand torn for nice rough edges. Each of the five signatures is wrapped with a piece of thick blue handmade cotton paper with gorgeous deckled edges. To each, I have sewn a botanical cyanotype that I made on cotton fabric, five in total. I have also paper clipped several blue surprises to a couple of the pages. Just a few things to inspire your creativity...
The book is bound with slate grey waxed linen thread. It is a large size, measuring about 6" wide by 8" high.
It will arrive outlet to you beautifully and artfully wrapped in cotton fabric and ribbon with a few surprises tucked in.
