Product code: 1970s Smithsonian National outlet Museum of African Necklace vermeil yellow gold
The most I can remember of my mostly stored treasure is we purchased in the mid 1970s. There are reproductions on the market made of brass, but as you can see this is gold plated(vermeil). Non authentic do not come with museum papers and do not look like this. Base appears to be a combination of brass and silver- Sterling outlet as plating typically is. and a bamboo wrap over straw. I have researched thoroughly on the museum's site and this piece is no longer for sale and it is not found authentic across ecommerce, as this piece is, bought at the museum.
