Vintage Mid Century, large, Art glass bowls by Per Lutken of Holmegaard. I believe they are called Akva Bowls or ashtrays.
Per Lütken was a Danish glassmaker (1916–1998), most famous for his works at Holmegaard Glass Factory ("Holmegaard Glasværk" in Danish). He is seen as one of the most important glass artists in Denmark. Lütken has set his signature on the history of Danish glassmaking, designing more than 3,000 pieces of glass for Holmegaard, a company for whom he worked from 1942 and until his death in 1998. Amongst the best known series created by him are "Ideelle", "Skibsglas", "No. 5", "Selandia" and "Provence", all of which are still selling throughout the world. They are all regarded as design icons, and are found in many Danish homes to this day
Each is about 7 inches wide.
Both in very good condition with no chips or cracks. Each has the odd mark here and there from normal usage. Each outlet has a scratch and the odd bubble in the glass, nothing to spoil lovely, genuine art glass bowls. Each is marked and signed as shown.
The Blue one is dated 1960.
The darker one has the number 16309 on the base.
