The object:
Heartwarming creamer with rounded shape and joyful viola decoration. The milk jug/ creamer was designed as part of the "Sylvia" tableware series for Rörstrand's 250th anniversary in 1976. Marianne Westman designed the model, and Sylvia Leuchovius designed the decoration. Brilliant piece!

The artist:
Sylvia Leuchovius (1915–2003) was one of Sweden's leading ceramic artists in the 20th century. She was part of the Nordic design tradition aiming for warm-hearted, humorous, and sometimes subtly ironic design. After her studies at ”School of Design and Crafts” in Gothenburg, Sylvia worked for the Rörstrand factory for more than 20 years. She became a prominent designer of figurines, wall plaques, and tableware – often with stylistic animal or plant motifs. (Source: Mother Sweden)
