Vintage Midcentury SHELTIE DOG on PINK Armchair Oil outlet Portrait Painting Framed c1960s

Here is a vintage oil painting dog portrait outlet of a sheltie dog on a pink armchair. The painting has a folk art/amateur art look about it. I like the strong colors and the poignant raising of his paw. The armchair is a deep dusky pink. The art is framed in its original oak wood frame and signed G. Wass. It measures 14 7/8 x 18 7/8 in. Canvasboard only measures 12 x 16 in. The painting is in very good vintage condition while the frame has a few blackish marks which may be in the wood. I would date this art to the 1960s item period.
