These bold, light-weight bead embroidery earrings mix the smooth textures of natural seashells with the facetted sparkle of three different gemstones.

In each earring, two layers of sliced spindle seashells are surrounded by tiny iron pyrite beads and multiple-colored charoite beads—all complementing each shell's natural shades of ivory and purple. The design is trimmed in bright silver Japanese seed beads, which contrast against the sandy ultra suede background. Amethyst beads accent the top and bottom of each earring and nest within the the shells

Sterling silver (.925) ear wires and finding add a refinement to this boho chic design.

TECHNIQUE—These earrings were handmade using bead embroidery, a beadwork technique that uses a needle and thread to sew beading to a foundation that is then backed in ultra suede.
