These two original handmade clay sculptures are truly wonderful little dog figurines that appear to be pit bull terriers (aka American Pit Bull Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, or American Staffordshire Terrier. I suspect these were someone's pets as they are named . MAGAI is engraved into the side of the smaller one and TEED or LEED (backwards) are imprinted into the larger one, one name on each side.

The smaller pup is obviously a male, and the two match one another with their grey and white fur.

They have charming facial expressions with a really lovely folk art appeal.

The smaller dog has a shiny glaze and is about 5" long and 3 1/2" tall; the larger one is only shiny glazed for the white portion while the grey is unglazed and matte finish. It's about 7 1/2" long and 4 1/2" tall.

They are truly one of a kind masterpieces. The price listed is for the pair. I'm unsure of the original artist or studio and welcome information on them. All I know is that they are from a local Atlanta collection and they are fairly heavy and solid sculpted clay.

In good vintage preowned used condition, these adorable little dogs are free of any overt damage or repair and are sold together as a pair. These are hand sculptured and have lots of artist imperfections as would be expected. There is a place on the outlet bottom of the larger dog's front right paw that may be a little chip or it may be original; I mention that to be thorough and it in no way detracts nor devalues it.
