This listing is for a hand tooled leather journal/travel wallet specifically designed to hold the included outlet 5.5" x 3.5" Field Notes memo book. It also features 2 credit card pockets, one vertical and one horizontal, and 1 wider pocket behind those for a few folded bills or such. A standard sized business card will only fit in the horizontal pocket or in wider back pocket.

This measures 6.5 inches tall by 4 inches wide when snapped closed and is about 1.25 inches thick. The closure strap is an inch wide and has brass plated hardware. This strap also features a hand tooled border and is dyed and lined to match the inside of this journal. The included Field Notes memo book easily slides out and can be replaced if needed.

I cut the parts of this journal from vegetable tanned leather that I dyed a nice saddle tan color. Fiebings Tan-Kote was applied over the dye to help protect the leather and I lined this with a copper colored piece suede that has a very soft feel to it. I also dyed the front border around the stitching, the edges of the closure strap, and the top edges of the inside pockets dark brown.

I hand saddle stitched this using white linen thread that was coated with bees wax to help lock the stitches in place and to protect the thread. The edges are dyed dark brown to match the front border color and the top edges of the inside pockets. They are also burnished and waxed.
