Rare Find! WWII USAF USAAF Boeing B29 and B29A Bomber "Superfortress" LOAD ADJUSTER" Slide Rule Calculator, 1940s. Property of the "U.S. Government". The B29 was designed as a strategic heavy bomber used primarily by the United States during World War 2 and Korea. This slide rule/calculator was used by the crew to determine the most optimal bomb, fuel and ammunition load for a given mission, balanced against the weight of other equipment, including turrets, bunks, cameras and the crew themselves. Made by Cox and Stevens Aircraft Corp., Minneola, New York. Original brown leather case with flip top shows some signs of ware, but in good condition without cracking. The Slide Rule is in very good condition, some slight delamination of the overlay at the ends. No yellowing, very little marring, and the slide bar moves freely. Fully legible. Cursor window is intact, moves freely outlet and window is mostly clear. Diagram on the backside shows the fuselage and layout of the aircraft. Great piece of memorabilia for your collection!
