Product code: COTY Informal Fragrance Amphora Perfume outlet Bottle 1940
Note: Empty bottle only. Gorgeous vintage 1940s green pottery Coty fragrance jug with handle and wooden stopper (this appears to be a replacement stopper as the originals were metal). Bottom reads: "COTY outlet NEW YORK PARIS informal fragrance Use this lovely Eau de Toilet an lavishly as you choose. A generous sprinkle- in your bath - a dash in your hand basin - in your final shampoo rinse - on your lingerie or kerchief. Impart a touch of fragrance to your accessories or your furs. Take it with you to 'freshen up' while traveling. CONT. 5ozs COMPOUNDED IN U.S.A." These collectible jugs were made by Zanesville Stoneware Company of Ohio beginning in 1940. They held concentrated Eau de Toilette that Coty introduced that year, which they called "Informal Fragrances". Different colors of pottery each held a different top scent; this beautiful green piece fittingly held "Emeraude" ("Emerald" in French). Approximately 5.5" tall/6" tall with the stopper.
