This is a designer cabochon, with the stone cut to create a beautiful composition rather than to simply maximize the number of cabochons cut from the rock slab. The owner of Talisman Too has personally selected the material, and cut, shaped and polished the stone.

Deschutes Jasper comes from a source near Biggs Junction, Oregon. The land is now a state park, and thus no more stone may be mined! Only that which was collected prior to the park designation is available, and it's a highly prized material. The material is known for it's intriguing natural compositions, including mountainous landscapes. It's a beautiful stone that will be an intrinsic part of the jewelry it is used in.
