Miscarriage Ornament, Green Pea Christmas Ornament featuring a handmade realistic glass pea to represent your baby. The pea is set off by a green glass leaf to symbolize growth and a sparkling crystal heart that depicts your love. All are cradled in a shallow frosted glass lens that is meant to evoke the womb where your baby began. The glass green pea is a bit larger than a real one - (about 10mm in diameter) to make it easier to see. The glass leaf is between 1-1/4 and 1-1/2 inches long (about 40mm), and the crystal heart is 10mm. You can select from different crystal colors when you place your order. I've used 14/20 Gold Filled chain and rings to assemble the components so your ornament will never tarnish. It will be packed in a free paper gift box with a gold bow.

"Your baby is the size of a pea." These words appear on several popular internet pregnancy calendars at the 6 weeks stage of development. This ornament can be a sensitive keepsake for yourself or for a family who is grieving the loss of an infant at 6 weeks due to miscarriage or other complications.

I ship most orders 1 to 3 days after they are received. Orders ship free in the US via First Class Package Service, but if you need your package sooner, upgrades to Priority Mail or Express Mail can be purchased during Checkout. If you need more certainty, Message me to discuss options for UPS 2-day and Next Day Air. A signature will be required for orders valued over $500. If it's inconvenient to sign for packages at your home address, during checkout you can provide the address of another place where someone will be available to sign - perhaps at your work or the home of a trusted friend.

The Nature of Mother Nature:
Almost nothing in nature is completely round, smooth or even, so I avoid making my glass fruit and leaves too perfectly. I put on little splotches and speckles, make outlet them a tidbit lopsided, and add other small imperfection so that each berry or leaf is unique. This makes them look much more real.

Process and Materials:
These glass pea and leaf beads are individually handmade by me from colored glass rods and powders in the flame of a torch. For the pea I melt the glass directly onto a piece of 20 gauge copper wire, which becomes the "stem" of the pea. I did not make the glass lens - that was purchased from another source.
