This antique pink and white shell cameo is in good condition and has retained its safety chain and pin. Circa 1900, this pretty vintage brooch is stamped on the back 9ct, Clewco (for . E J Clewley & Co) and RG (for rolled gold, an early type of gold plating). The gold plating has worn outlet away in a couple of small patches, leaving a tiny spot of tarnish. It closes securely with a good and strong pin featuring the classic Victorian C clasp with a T-bar hinge. There is a white mark to the reverse of the cameo but it does not affect the appearance of the brooch in any way. If you would prefer to wear this as a pendant you could easily swap the safety chain out for a necklace.
