Made by Dryden Pottery in 1993, this surrealist, modernist, tribal appearing wall face mask is a striking art piece and conversation starter.
We bought this on a family vacation to their pottery outlet in Hot Springs, Arkansas. When we lived in New Zealand, people would comment on how it appeared almost like a Tiki mask. When we lived in New Mexico, people commented that it reminded them of sightings in Roswell. :D
It is 14 inches long and 5 inches wide at the widest point. The facial features are clear with eyes, elongated nose and mouth outlet easily seen. This mask has a purplish tone with a medium brown side next to a very dark, almost black side. It has a matte glaze.
It is in excellent condition, no chips, cracks, or scrapes. The back clearly shows the Dryden signature.
Dryden Pottery is still open, by the way. I recently heard from them about this listing. https://www.facebook.com/drydenpottery
