Antique Sterling Silver Art outlet Nouveau Hair Clip Unger Brothers. Sterling Silver Barrette. Sterling Hair Accessory for Wedding
Beautiful sterling silver hair clip. As someone with long hair for ages I've looked far and beyond to find perfect hair accessories... and it's hard to get good quality hair clips that are sterling silver. I began to repurpose forks and spoons into hair clips and the results are perfect. **please note this is not cheap silver plate, but a real sterling silver piece made of a fork or spoon**
***THE PRICE OF SILVER IS GOING UP. I HAVE HAD TO RAISE THE PRICE OF MY BARRETTES 3X. IF YOU LIKE ONE YOU MIGHT CONSIDER BUYING AS OPPOSED TO WAITING B/C AS THE PRICE OF SILVER GOES UP SO DOES THE PRICE OF THESE ANTIQUE SILVERWARE PIECES AND THEY ARE LIMITED***
This sterling silver hair clip is made from a spoon by Unger Brothers circa 1903. It's a beautiful floral pattern and very classy and beautiful, especially if you love Art Nouveau and antiques. It is not a mold or reproduction but the actual spoon.
Here is your something old to have for your wedding attire if you like, as it'd make a beautiful clip for a bride on her wedding day (something old for your wedding) or even the flower girl. I personally wear mine every day whether it's to something dressy or just out for a walk.
It has a nice flower pattern along with Art Nouveau Style outlet swirls.... It is a heavier barrette, but it can be work by girls, teens and women. I find myself wearing it daily, but my 2 year old can wear it as well for a nice formal event like the picture shown. ... It is one of the larger barrettes we offer, like the wild rose barrette.
The floral pattern is classic and can work for any occasion from work to a night out to something more formal.
It would also be a good birthday gift or gift for any occasion.
It is permanently bonded to the barrette with a special glue that is weather resistant. The barrette part is strong and sturdy. It is not made of sterling silver however, as silver is often too soft to do a proper job working as the actual clip.
The clip is a little over 2" long and 3/4" wide at the widest point... this is an estimate!
**Please note sizes may vary***
Also it's an antique spoon, so each will vary in terms of patina, etc. It's up to you if you want to polish it. I leave them all as is. I would avoid harsh chemicals and just use a cloth.
This would be beautiful with any of our women's focal bead or charm bracelets. We also now offer heirloom girl's and baby bracelets that would be beautiful with this for a formal event or portrait.
