Chinese Calligraphy on Scroll outlet 雷震 - 村晚

This is an original piece of Chinese calligraphy written by artist Jen-Jen Hwang-Shum 黃蓁蓁. This Song dynasty poet is describing the evening scene of the countryside. He describes the views of the mountains, the sunset, and the pond together to paint a beautiful picture. This poem is an excellent example of "pictures in poems outlet 诗中有画". 草满池塘水满陂，
Grass fills the pond, water reaches the banks,
山衔落日浸寒漪。
The mountain soaks in the setting sun in the chilly air.
牧童归去横牛背，
The cowherd boy returns astride the cow's back,
短笛无腔信口吹。
Tunelessly playing the piccolo.
