The following piece is a wonderful watercolor painting done by listed Ohio artist Edward Gifford. Born in 1927 and passing away in 1998, Gifford spent his life painting beautifully detailed landscape scenes featuring houses, barns, and selected rural buildings. He signed his pieces either "Edward C. Gifford" or sometimes just "Ed Gifford."Gifford was a member of the American Artists Professional League and the WPA Painter's Society, and his works were "represented in both private and corporate art collections around the world." Framed by the artist in a lovely walnut color wood frame with outlet matting, this painting itself is in very good untouched original condition, and we have carefully examined it for any damage to the painting, matting, or frame. Additionally, it is signed "Ed Gifford", the shorter of this artist's signatures.
This watercolor measures 11"x14 1/2", with double matting, 1/4" and 2 1/2" respectively, and a 2" walnut colored wood frame. All are in great condition, and the cardboard finishing backing only sees a few spots of staining, likely from where the piece was stored prior to being sold.
A wonderful opportunity to own a Midwestern watercolor! Perfect for rustic decor, or for the watercolor admirer. We look forward to finding this beautiful piece of artwork a new home!
