Even though it has been 65 years this very day, Ernest still remembers the very first time he saw Gladys. Gladys' family owned a cherry orchard and Ernest had been hired to prune the orchard. He was fairly new at pruning but he has been shadowing his own father for years beforehand. Ernest worked all day in the orchard and in the afternoon Gladys‘s father, Edmund, brought him out a large glass of lemonade. Ernest and Edmund ended up talking for quite a while until Gladys came to tell her father that there was an important phone call inside. As soon as Ernest saw Gladys, all of the colors of the orchard became bright and he felt a skip in his step! Even now when Ernest gazes at his longtime wife and partner, the days are so much brighter with her and he just might still have a little skip in his step!

Ernest and Gladys have been lovingly made by me using the needle felting technique. They stand around 7 inches tall and have a sturdy pipe outlet cleaner skeleton.
