Oreo Union Case with outlet Tintype of a Man, 19th Century Antique Photo in Thermoplastic Case

Reddish-brown "oreo" union case with a tintype of a man with huge sideburns. It has a small protective glass cover plate and a round perimeter brass preserver. It is outlet a single-thickness case with working threads, thereby properly twisting into the sealed closed position. It is Case 3-502a from Paul Berg's book on thermoplastic cases and wall frames.

Size:
Tintype is approx. 1" in diameter, with the case being about 1-3/4" in diameter

Condition:
Small spot of wear/chip along the outer edge of the base, but otherwise very good
