Product code: Vintage Art outlet Deco Rhinestone Duette Broach/Dress Clips Circa 1930s
I have not cleaned this item. It appears that all the rhinestones are currently in place and I did not want to take any chances with it. It is still pretty shiny, even with nearly a century of grime on it, but it will sparkle like crazy once it is carefully cleaned. Large outlet Art Deco Broaches that could be separated into two parts and worn as dress clips were all the rages in the 1930s and this piece is a text book example. Both sides remove completely from the pin frame and can be clipped to the neckline or waistband of a dress either separately or as a pair. It was common to use them as a pair to hold a fur stole or other wrap in place on an evening gown. No makers marks were found. The clips are strong, and the two halves fasten together securely. It actually lines up just a touch better than in the photos, I had taken it apart and put it back together with one piece upside down. The catch on the broach pin is a bit stiff, but it functions.
